JMP
Software Description: JMP Pro is a statistical discovery software and SAS product that performs simple and complex data analysis. It dynamically links statistics with graphics to interactively explore, understand, and visualize data. JMP Pro also includes advanced analytic techniques for data mining and predictive modeling. JMP Pro is for both 32/64-bit operating systems (Windows & Mac) and replaces the JMP standard.

Licensing
VCU Technology Services has obtained a JMP Academic Suite site license for JMP. The JMP site license is subject to the following conditions:
- Can ONLY be installed on computers owned by VCU or owned by current VCU students, faculty, and staff.
- Can ONLY be used by current VCU students, faculty, and staff.
- Can ONLY be used for purposes of VCU academic instruction and or VCU academic research. Any other use is prohibited, including use for the following:
- VCU administrative purposes
- Any VCUHS purposes
- Any McGuire VAMC purposes

Download & Install JMP
To install JMP Pro on your computer, you will need to download one of the versions listed below. The license registration form will ask you how many licenses will be required and then will provide a link for downloading JMP. After completing the form, an email will be sent to your VCU address confirming your registration and providing you with installation instructions.

- Download JMP Pro 17 for Macs (supports macOS 10.15 - 13.x)
Register/Renew
All JMP licenses must be registered and renewed annually to maintain access to the application. This registration allows us to keep track of the number of JMP licenses issued. If JMP is installed on multiple computers, the number of installations must be recorded when you register the license. If you pass the application on to another person, ask the individual to register the license. IT personnel must register the number of copies installed in a lab or classroom.
JMP licenses expire annually and require renewal to continue to run on your computer. Your JMP license will expire on January 30 of each year. There is a 90-day grace period that will allow you to run JMP beyond the expiration date.
To Register JMP:
- Select the correct JMP version listed below.
- Complete the form. Specify the number of licenses you will need.
- Press Continue.
- This completes the license registration process. An email will be sent to you to confirm your registration.
To Register and Renew JMP:
- Select the correct JMP version listed below.
- Complete the form. Specify the number of licenses you will need.
- Press Continue.
- On the subsequent web page, click the JMPPro...Renewal link to download the JMP renewal file.
- An email will be sent to your VCU address with renewal instructions.
JMP Versions:
Select the desired JMP version below to register or renew your license.
If you are using an older version, please upgrade to a later version.
JMP Updates
The updates available below introduce new features and fix known problems in earlier releases, and you are strongly encouraged to download and apply them. To determine your version of JMP, launch JMP and display the Help menu (Windows) or the JMP menu (Mac), then select About JMP.
JMP Pro 16.1.0 update for Windows (apply only to JMP Pro 16 for Windows):
- This update will convert an existing installation of JMP 16.0.x to JMP 16.1.0.
- Ensure that JMP is NOT running (if it is, close it).
- Download the JMPPro1610WinUpdater.exe update file to your desktop or another folder.
- Right-click on the downloaded file and select "Run as administrator."
- In the ensuing window, click the Setup button.
- Follow the on-screen prompts to install the JMP Pro 16.1.0 update.
JMP Pro 16.1.0 update for Mac (apply only to JMP Pro 16 for Mac):
- This update will convert an existing installation of JMP 16.0.x to JMP 16.1.0.
- Ensure that JMP is NOT running (if it is, close it).
- Download the JMPPro1610MacUpdater.dmg update file to your desktop or another folder.
- Double-click on the downloaded file.
- Follow the on-screen prompts to install the JMP Pro 16.1.0 update.

JMP e-Learning Tutorials
These are web-based tutorials that will get you started using JMP. They are hosted on the SAS Academic Hub website. They can be used to support academic instruction and research ONLY by current VCU students, faculty, and staff.
Current VCU students, faculty, and staff can gain FREE access to these e-Learning courses as follows:

- Click either the For Educators or For Students button (they both get you to the same courses).
- Scroll down a bit to the section How to Access Teaching/Student Materials in the SAS Academic Hub.
- Follow the directions presented to go through the checkout process. During checkout, be sure to use your vcu.edu email address.
- An email will be sent to you with an activation code and instructions for accessing the courses. If you encounter problems, please email elearn@sas.com.
