Watch Video - How to Export Course Materials

The export course/organization feature creates a package of the course/organization content that you can import and use to teach another course/organization with the same content. Unlike the archive course/organization feature, the export course/organization feature does not include any user interactions with the course/organization—it only includes the content and the tools.

Note: Files within Course/Organization Files that are not used in the course/organization or not linked in the course/organization are not included when exporting.

Export packages are downloaded as compressed ZIP files and are imported in the same format. Do not unzip an export package or delete files from the package, otherwise the package will not be imported correctly.

1. Go to the Control Panel >> Packages and Utilities >> Export/Archive Course/Organization.

2. Click Export Package.

3. On the Export Course/Organization page, include only the links to course/organization files -OR- include the links and copies of the course/organization files content.

For Copy links and include copies of the content, click Calculate Size to be sure that the package size does not exceed the displayed Allowed package size. To remove files and folders from the package, click Manage Package Contents.

4. In the Select Course/Organization Materials section, select the check boxes for each course/organization area and tool to export. You have the option to Select All or select only individual portions of the course. If you select Discussion Board, decide whether to include started posts for each thread in each forum (anonymously) or include only forums with no starter posts.

5. Click Submit.
