Reserve TAB 108 using EMS

Technology Services has transitioned the TAB 108 room reservation process from Google Calendar to VCU EMS (Events Management System). To enter a TAB 108 reservation, you must have a VCU EMS account. If you do not have a VCU EMS account, you will need to request one. It may take up to 2 business days to activate your VCU EMS account.

Until you receive access to VCU EMS, please submit a room request by submitting a Service Desk ticket via the VCU IT Support Center or call (804) 828-2227 for additional assistance.

Request a VCU EMS Account

  1. Go to

  2. Select Log In from the toolbar.

  1. Enter your VCU eID and Password.

  2. Complete the online form and Submit.

Log In and find a room - Must have an EMS account

  1. Go to

  2. Log In with your VCU eID and password.

  3. Hover over the magnify glass to display the drop-down menu.

 Browse/Check Space Availability
  1. Select Check Space Availability.

  2. Scroll down to MPC | Technology Administration Building and click on the room to open the pop-up to view details. 

  3. The Features tab will provide a list on hardware and software available in the room.

  4. The Availability tab displays the current reservation. Use the arrow buttons to navigate through the days and weeks. Change the view to Day, Work Week, Full Week or Two Weeks if needed.

How to make a reservation in VCU EMS

  1. Log In to VCU EMS,

  2. Hover over the Reservations icon and select Tech Services | Computer Training Classrooms from the drop-down menu.

  1. Select the Date, Start TimeEnd Time, and Setup Type and enter the estimated Attendance.

  2. Select MPC | Technology Administration Building from the Facilities drop-down menu

  1. Click the button to display the room under Location.

    NOTE: If the room is not available on the date entered, the room will not appear under Location. Check room availability before you enter the reservation.

  2. Click the Add reservation iconicon to select the location and the button to open the Event Details form.
  3. Complete all the required fields (*).

  4. If you name does not appear under 1st contact, select (temporary contact) and type in your name.  The 2nd contact is not necessary.
  5. Click the Submit button iconto process the request.

View, Edit, and Check Status of a VCU EMS Reservation

  1. Go to

  2. Log In using your VCU eID and Password.

  3. Hover over My Account and select View My Requests.

  1. Click on the event title under name to access the reservation details.
Current History (TAB)
  1. To edit the reservation, click on Edit/Update button icon(edit/update icon).
  1. To delete a reservation, click on Delete/Cancel button icon(delete/cancel icon).
  1. To view the status of the reservation, look under Status.
