Video Conferencing Support

Technology Services supports hardware-based H.323 conferencing devices installed in classrooms on both campuses of VCU and operated on a self-use basis by faculty and staff.  In addition, clients may schedule the use of a technician-supported conferencing facility operated by Technology Services staff in Cabell Library, with seating for 30 persons.

TS supports desktop conferencing via Zoom, a software-based application that allows users to connect and share video, audio and computer content, without the need for traditional hardware-based conferencing devices.  More information on how to use Zoom and how to request a Zoom account can be found here.

Faculty and staff with appsforVCU accounts powered by Google Apps for Education are also encouraged to explore Google Hangouts as a potential conferencing tool.
