Creating a Personal Wiki
Log into Confluence (wiki.vcu.edu) using your VCU eID and password. Once logged in, you will see a link at the top right corner of the page labeled with your name and a small arrow pointing down. Click this link to access the drop down menu. The menu's top option is "Create Personal Space." If you've already created a personal wiki, the top option will be "Personal Space" and this will take you to your personal wiki home page).
You will be asked to specify a few options before your personal wiki can be created. The first option asks who can view and contribute to your personal wiki. By default, you will be able to edit and read your personal space. In addition, other registered users (i.e. anyone with a valid VCU eID) will be able to view and comment on your personal wiki, but they will not be able to edit your pages. We recommend that you stick with the defaults because you can always change them later. (If you want a completely personal wiki, uncheck the box next to "Registered users - anyone logged into Confluence" under "Choose who can view and comment on content").
You can also choose a theme. Again, you can always change this option later. Once you click "Create" at the bottom of the page, your personal wiki will be created - personal wikis are automatically located at http://wiki.vcu.edu/display/~youreid.
