This PGY2 Ambulatory Care Residency is designed to train independent pharmacy practitioners to attain mastery in providing direct patient care. In addition to excellence in clinical decision-making and disease state management, this program emphasizes the skills necessary for residents considering a career in academia. Longitudinal experiences occur at two safety-net clinics in Richmond (CrossOver Healthcare Ministry and The Center for Healthy Hearts). Both longitudinal practice sites feature comprehensive medication management services under a collaborative practice agreement. Additional leadership, teaching and research experiences are provided through a variety of interprofessional specialty clinics at VCU Health System. Beyond elective rotations, residents have the opportunity to participate in numerous community engagement events throughout Virginia.
