Make it Real Campaign for VCU

The Make It Real Campaign for VCU, the most ambitious fundraising campaign in the university’s history, closed June 30. The generous support of the VCU community of alumni, friends, employees, corporations and foundations made it possible to shatter the $750 million goal and raise a campaign total of $841,606,604.

The campaign fueled innovative ideas and bold initiatives, leading to wide-ranging transformations across the university and enriching the lives of VCU’s students, alumni, faculty, university professionals, patients, caregivers and researchers now and for years to come.

Since the campaign’s launch in 2012, gifts have bolstered growth in three major areas — people, innovations and environments — resulting in:

  • 250,620 gifts
  • 113,203 donors
  • 73,100 first-time donors
  • $109.5 million donated for scholarships and student support
  • $190.2 milliondonated for research
  • 394new endowed scholarships and student support funds
  • 138new endowed chairs, professorships, faculty support funds and research funds
