Application Deadlines: Spring 2021 student teacher applications will be accepted October 26-November 9, 2020. Fall 2021 student teacher applications will be accepted March 22-April 19, 2021.

Established in 1975, the Ruth Hibbs Hyland Scholarship trust fund is named after the founder of the department. It was established for the sole purpose of awarding scholarships to outstanding Art Education students whose futures hold promise of continuing the same ideals for art education as those promoted by Mrs. Hyland. Mrs. Hyland not only recognized the importance of training students in pedagogy, but in the studio arts as well. She further realized the need to prepare students who could develop art programs for grades K-12 that would acquaint young people with what she called the “joys of art.”
