Associate Professor - Metals
Susie Ganch is an Associate Professor of Metals. An artist and educator represented by Sienna Patti Contemporary Gallery, part of her practice is directing Radical Jewelry Makeover, an international jewelry mining and recycling project that travels across the country and abroad. Her work has been included in exhibitions at museums around the world including the Smithsonian National Museum for Women in the Arts, MFA Boston, the Design Museum in London, the National Gallery of Victoria in Melbourne, Australia, the Ueno Royal Museum in Tokyo, Kohler Art Center in Sheboygan, WI, and the Milwaukee Art Museum. She has been featured in the solo exhibitions “Have a Nice Day” (Quirk Gallery, Richmond, Va.), “How Soon is Now?” (MS State University), the ArtForum Critics’ pick “TIED” (Visual Arts Center, Richmond), and “Land and Sea” (Sienna Patti Contemporary in Lenox, Mass.). Her work is included in the public collections of LACMA in Cali., the Asheville Art Museum in N.C., MFA Boston, the Fuller Craft Museum in Brockton, Mass., the Metal Museum in Memphis, Tenn., and Quirk Hotel in Richmond. Her awarded grants include the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts Fellowship, Peter S. Reed Foundation Grant, Theresa Pollack Fine Art Award, a VA Commission for the Arts Grant, and multiple VCU Faculty Research Grants. Ganch received her MFA in metalsmithing and BS in geology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
