Responding to the history of the Tulsa Race Massacre, which occurred 100 years ago, this lecture will address the destruction of the three Black Wall Street communities—Richmond, Durham and Tulsa—and look at the processes of displacement and gentrification, the disappearance of thriving black cities such as DC and other formerly-thriving Black neighborhoods, and systemic policies that continue to be part of the fabric of the entire country.
