VCU Career Services is ready and able to offer virtual career advising appointments to current students and alumni within one year of graduation. Individuals can select or change the medium of any appointment type within Handshake to Zoom, phone, or email (best for document review). You can also cancel and/or reschedule appointments via Handshake or by calling our front desk at 804-828-1645.

Remember that Handshake and useful resources on the VCU Career Services website remain available all students and alumni 24/7. You may also visit our virtual services and support page to see other ways our team can help you, even in this remote environment.

About us

Our goal is to help you develop a plan for defining and achieving your career and professional goals, starting your first semester at VCU. We offer individual advising appointments to students and alumni during their first year after graduation.

All VCU students may use our services. The School of Business and College of Engineering also have individual career centers.

**Starting Thursday, March 4th**Spring 2021 Office Hours (Quick Questions): Tuesday-Thursday, 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.(last appointment will be checked-in at 12:45 p.m.) Make sure to bring a device(laptop or phone) if you would like to have a document reviewed during drop-in hours with an advisor on duty.

[VCUarts x VCU Career Services] Brand You: How to boost your chances of getting noticed by employers

Resumes, cover letters, Linkedin, and portfolios -- do you need all of these for your search? How do you write in a way that grabs an employer’s interest? Is an interview more than a conversation? There is an art to marketing yourself as a candidate for internships and jobs -- from resume to interview -- and this workshop will focus on teaching you the tricks to do so. By the end of the session you’ll know the magic formula for writing compelling content and the 3 phases of winning an interview. Workshop will be virtual and hosted on Zoom. Pre-Health Advisory Committee Personal Statement Live Q&A

Tuesday, March 9th, 1:30-2:30 pm | Pre-Health Advisory Committee (PHAC) is designed for and open to VCU undergraduate, post-baccalaureate, and recent alumni students on ANY pre-professional health track and are planning to apply to professional health programs during the summer/fall 2021 semesters for Fall 2022 admissions. Students who are participants of a guaranteed admissions program are eligible to participate in PHAC. This workshop is for students that have completed the PHAC introduction video, that have registered to participate in the process. Attendees should come prepared with questions about creating, writing, and editing their personal statement for the PHAC process. This is not a personal statement review workshop. Students from all pre-professional tracks are welcome to attend. Please register on Handshake. You will be directed to register on Zoom to receive the link to access the event.
