Peter Zucker, Ph.D., has more than 35 years of experience in the behavioral health care industry as a clinical professional, executive and entrepreneur. He was co-founder and chief executive officer of Stars Behavioral Health Group, one of the largest behavioral health care organizations in California, serving more than 30,000 lives with 1,400 staff.
Zucker has leveraged his skills as a psychologist and business leader to combine a passion for human services with entrepreneurial spirit to achieve tremendous success in starting up and leading large organizations and enterprises. He has particular expertise in new program and contract start-ups, medical and professional staff leadership, healthcare IT solutions including electronic health records and learning management systems, and organizational and executive enhancement.
Zucker has been a member of for-profit and not-for-profit boards for 30 years, helping organizations build coherence and effectiveness across multiple divisions and teams to achieve large scale company success.
He earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology and computer science at State University of New York-Albany and a doctorate in counseling psychology from Virginia Commonwealth University. He is a licensed psychologist and nursing home administrator.
