Google’s G Suite for Education is VCU’s email and collaboration platform available to faculty, staff and students. VCU has separate domains for faculty/staff and students. Accounts are created automatically based on your role(s). If you have more than one role at VCU, check out our to help you learn how your account(s) will work.
To get started, you’ll need your eID. If you haven’t claimed your eID, start by going to myeid.vcu.edu, then come back and learn more about your new G Suite account.
The student implementation of G Suite is myVCUmail. Student email addresses are in the format: eID@mymail.vcu.edu. If your only role at VCU is student, email sent eID@vcu.edu will arrive in your student account. We recommend that you use your @mymail.vcu.edu address as this will help with login from Google, Google Drive sharing, mobile access setup, etc.
The faculty & staff implementation of G Suite is appsforVCU. Faculty & Staff email addresses are in the format eID@vcu.edu.
Google Drive is the only VCU G Suite service provided to SOM employees. There are certain restrictions placed on the Google Drive only account. See the SOM Technology Service wiki for guidelines for Google Drive. School of Medicine faculty & staff use VCU Health email accounts. More information on obtaining a VCU Health email can be found on the SOM Technology Services wiki.
