Our Faculty Success and Wellness Day provides an introduction to some contemplative practices to help balance our busy lives. This day is an opportunity to nourish ourselves both intellectually and holistically, to explore wellness practices for self-care. When we take care of ourselves, both mentally and physically, we provide an example for our students. We see faculty success as a whole-person inclusive daily practice. We hope some of the things we practice and learn on this day will help all of us build a self-care practice going forward.
Our first annual Faculty Success and Wellness Day took place in 2019. Those who attended share an overwhelmingly positive response to their experience. We will be hosting wellness day in a virtual format this year. Although we will not be able to provide chair massages through Zoom, we will be offering live-stream yoga classes, as well as guided meditation and more. We know many of the interactive sessions will provide new tips and skills for increasing wellness and supporting our work.
