Engineering Research Building
The new Engineering Research Building (ERB) will support advanced research and economic development initiatives with a design that emphasizes makerspaces, collaborative research facilities and flexible gathering areas. The ERB will be situated on the southeast corner of Cary and Belvidere Streets, in close proximity to Engineering East Hall and the VCU School of Business.

Academics at the College of Engineering
The Virginia Commonwealth University College of Engineering strives to provide students with a well-rounded educational experience. In addition to meeting rigorous academic demands, our students find time to be active in research and student organizations, allowing them to develop leadership and collaborative skills both in and outside the classroom.
You will find students studying in groups throughout the halls of the College of Engineering. The college’s team environment helps students stay focused as they tackle difficult projects and engage in group projects. Often, you will come across “solutions in progress” on the dry erase boards, strategically placed throughout the building.
We actively provide advice and guidance as students plan their class schedules and develop a career focus. Always looking forward, we encourage our students to pursue internships during their tenure at VCU and provide career services to aid in the search for employment after graduation.
