Lab Profiles
Conway Lab
Daniel Conway, Ph.D., assistant professor of biomedical engineering, and researchers in his lab are developing tools to enhance the study of cell biology. By inserting biosensors into specific proteins, they are able to measure a cell’s response to various chemical and mechanical stimuli. “There is a very tight connection between the forces that cells experience and how they behave,” says biomedical engineering Ph.D. candidate Paul Arsenovic.
Biomaterials & Stem Cell Engineering Lab
Ning Zhang, Ph.D., associate professor of biomedical engineering, is developing new ways to promote tissue regeneration through biomaterials and stem cell biology. Her student Jessica Forrester is investigating how microbeads can foster attachment of stem cells.
