Department of Otolaryngology
Located in the Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU, our pediatric unit is a microcosm of the Department of Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery – we treat the same broad spectrum of ear, nose, throat, head and neck conditions, just in younger patients.
Our fellowship-trained pediatric otolaryngologists treat patients with both common and complex conditions, such as:
We're proud to collaborate with health care providers across a multitude of specialties — including pediatrics, neurosurgery, gastroenterology and pulmonology — to provide care for our patients and their families. This includes several multidisciplinary clinics such as cleft/craniofacial, aerodigestive and pediatric voice.
For those pursuing careers in pediatric otolaryngology, we provide support in preparing and applying for fellowship programs. Continuing with prior trends, recent ENT residents with a desire to complete a pediatric otolaryngology fellowship have matched to their top choice, and those choosing a general practice feel confident in caring for a wide range of issues in pediatric patients.
