• Nadira is currently working as a Research Assistant in the Virginia Department of Health Division of Disease and Prevention. She plans to continue working there while applying for either active duty Air Force as a public health officer or into the U.S. Public Health Service Commissioned Corps.

Post-graduation destination

Nadira received her undergraduate degree from George Mason University in Neuroscience with a minor in psychology. After graduating she worked in a lab for a few years. In January of 2015, she volunteered at the Mosby Court Resource Center in Richmond Virginia and discovered her passion for public health. Nadira says, "VCU has awarded me with so many opportunities. I have loved being able to do my internship, practicum, and service learning with different organizations in the city. I would recommend VCU to anyone because having a small classroom size has allowed me to be able to succeed as a student. I have also been able to build relationships with others in my cohort."
