Director of sustainability

About the position

The director of sustainability will lead, direct, and continue to develop sustainability programs that support the University's strategic objectives and mission. The director of sustainability will be responsible for overseeing the VCU RamBikes Shop and the VCU biking policy, and will oversee the operation of the VCU Free Store and ensure that the on-campus resource promotes equitable access to basic necessities of living for members of the VCU community. The director of sustainability also coordinates with the University’s academic community to integrate sustainability into the curriculum and develop, coordinate and implement sustainability plans and other programs to achieve VCU sustainability commitments and goals. This role will oversee the annual
greenhouse gas emissions inventory, actively maintain the VCU Climate Action Plan, and effectively submit required annual sustainability reports (ACUPCC, STARS, Sierra Club, Princeton Review, etc.). The director of sustainability is a member of the VCU Design and Construction Guidelines Committee and the VCU Council For Community Engagement.
