Getting started

Welcome to Intersession and J-Term at Virginia Commonwealth University. We’re confident that you’ll be able to find what you need from numerous courses.

All three-credit courses for Intersession are taught Dec. 28, 2020, through Jan. 9, 2021, during the winter break closing schedule. All three-credit courses for J-Term are taught Dec. 28, 2020 through Jan. 15, 2021. Classes will not be held Jan. 1, 2021.

Who can attend?

Intersession and J-Term are open to current VCU students and students visiting from other institutions.

If you are attending VCU for an Intersession or J-Term course only, you will register as a nondegree-seeking student. Nondegree-seeking students must meet VCU’s eligibility requirements. Students who are currently seeking a baccalaureate degree at another college or university must be in good standing at their home institution and must have a letter from their home institution approving the courses they will transfer. Visit the Registration page to learn more.

Non-U.S. citizens and non-U.S. residents can find information about academic and financial requirements, admission, passports and visas, and registration for international students on the Office of Admissions website. For more information, contact (804) 828-6016 or email at vcuia@vcu.edu.
