This has been an unprecedented year for our country. Because of the challenges we faced, we have had the opportunity to come together and solve problems brought on by the pandemic that those in the university community would have had to otherwise weather alone. Those accomplishments demonstrated the extraordinary work that VCU employees do every day.
As we approach the end of the calendar year, we encourage managers and employees to think back on your many accomplishments from this past year as you complete annual staff performance reviews. Many employees took on new tasks, shifted priorities and even learned to master brand new systems and processes as a result of the pandemic. These changes should be noted in the employee’s Talent@VCU goals. For information and step by step instructions on updating goals, please visit the performance management section of Inside HR. If you have questions about performance goals or using Talent@VCU, please send an inquiry to Danielle Hairston at email@example.com.
Employees should review and edit performance goals and career development plans in Talent@VCU prior to beginning the self-review. If you haven’t already, please work with your manager to review and update your performance and career development goals in Talent@VCU in the weeks prior to the self-review process.
The CHS HR director will host performance management overview sessions for employees and managers as a high-level refresher on the process and to and answer questions. Sessions will be offered on multiple dates and should take approximately one hour. You can log in to Talent@VCU and search for '2020 Annual Overview' under the learning tab to register. Registrations for these sessions is strongly encouraged. Self-reviews for staff will be available to complete starting Dec. 7.
