The Lavender Celebration celebrates the achievement of LGBTQIA+ undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral candidates. Lavender Celebration began in 1995 on the campus of the University of Michigan and have since expanded to universities around the country. Each graduate receives a commemorative rainbow cord to symbolize their academic achievement. The ceremony takes place during the fall and spring commencement.
We've transitioned from our traditional in person ceremony structure to ensure public health and safety at this time.
Registration for May 2021 graduates will be announced soon!
