This professional learning opportunity is offered to Virginia educators who teach history. Originally offered to the inaugural cohort of history teachers piloting the African American History elective course in Virginia, this series addresses the critical skills needed to develop and sustain a culturally responsive and inclusive classroom. Participants will gain a better understanding of cultural competence as they explore how race, equity, and culture has impacted history.
This series includes five, 90-minute professional learning seminars for Virginia history teachers. All sessions will be held virtually on Thursdays beginning at 5:00 p.m.
