Becoming an Antiracist Educator Series

Becoming an Antiracist Educator

The Becoming an Antiracist Educator is back for the 21-22 school year. The Level 1 series will be offered for both Higher Education and PK-12 audiences. Participants who completed Level 1 last year can join us for the new Level 2 series, building on topics and moving from ideas into action. Also new this year is the Becoming an Antiracist Leader series serving corporate and non-profit audiences.

About the Series

The Office of Strategic Engagement launced the Becoming an Antiracist Educator series in Fall of 2020. This dynamic professional learning opportunity is designed to intentionally develop skills to engage in practices to dismantle systems that perpetuate racial inequities.

Participants in this interactive and reflective virtual space will deepen their understanding of race, racism, and systemic inequities. All 2021-2022 series include 9 sessions, as well as a personal/professional antiracist assessment and micorcredential after completion.

Collectively, we will challenge the underlying structures that uphold racism and will develop dispositions to demonstrate antiracist actions within personal and professional environments.
