Graduate Education

Ph.D. program

All doctoral students in the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology program have their tuition paid and receive a nationally competitive stipend and health insurance throughout their education in this department. Admittance through the Biomedical Sciences Doctoral Portal provides the first two years of financial support through the School of Medicine. In the following years, Ph.D. students are provided stipends through the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology utilizing a National Institutes of Health training grant, stipends through the adviser’s grants, or from departmental resources. Students are encouraged to apply for individual extramural predoctoral fellowships where applicable. Our students have had excellent success earning their own fellowship through this prestigious mechanism.  Tuition and fees and health insurance are paid for students receiving fellowships and assistantships. No special application for financial aid is necessary. Details of the financial arrangements are communicated directly to the student at the time of acceptance into the graduate program.

M.S. program

Students in the M.S. program will not receive financial aid through the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology.  Information and forms for financial aid are available for graduate students through the university Office of Financial Aid .
