What is the Student
Financial Management Center?

We understand that financial management and financing college can be barriers to college completion for a number of students. The SFMC is here to help you overcome this obstacle and set you on the course for financial success!

The SFMC serves as a central hub for financial outreach, literacy and management to current and prospective VCU students, parents and families. Our goal is to provide you with a personalized experience on matters concerning financial wellness, debt management, budgeting and planning for the future.

Every student is assigned a financial counselor, based upon their school or college at VCU, who can provide one-on-one consultations about student accounts, educational expenses and financial management. Additionally, peer ambassadors and peer counselors are available to assist students with applying for financial aid, entrance counseling and researching financial needs.

Our mission

The mission of the SFMC is to empower students to become financially literate and fiscally responsible through personalized service, outreach, education and programming.
