The VCU Holmes Scholars Program provides students interested in pursuing a Ph.D. with resources and professional development to best position them for tenure track faculty positions. Students have to apply to the program and are selected based on an active research agenda and excellent academic standing in their doctoral program.
The American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education (AACTE) Holmes Program supports students from historically underrepresented groups who are pursuing careers in education at AACTE member institutions. Each year, VCU School of Education Holmes Scholars join Dean Andrew Daire at the AACTE Annual Meeting to engage in discussion, share research and practices, and become better equipped to drive change in the educator preparation field.
