Life in the city

Virginia Commonwealth University sits in the heart of Richmond, or RVA as we like to call it. The capital of Virginia, Richmond is a thriving urban community full of arts, culture, history, nature and more. Home to seven Fortune 500 companies, the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond, and state and federal government agencies, the city provides VCU students with opportunities for internships and employment beyond graduation. No matter what your passion, you will be able to satisfy it here. It may be hard for you to do it all, even in four years!

Ram Camp: Learning to lead.

First-year students in the Summer Scholars program can choose to apply to Ram Camp, which begins on Sunday, Aug. 11, 2019, the week following the end of the Summer Scholars program.

This weeklong leadership experience is filled with activities – leadership development, team building and fun interaction with other first-year students – while learning about VCU resources in a small, intimate environment before school begins.

Participating in Ram Camp after your Summer Scholars experience is an excellent way to continue to make connections with the VCU community and with other students committed to developing their leadership potential.

For more information, visit the Ram Camp website.
