VCU's Project Management Methodology is designed to match a project manager's education and experience with the complexity level of the project being managed. Starting with the Fast Track lowest level of complexity and escalating upward to a Highly Complex project requires an increasing amount of PM training and experience. This natural progression helps to ensure the success of a project by not overwhelming new project managers with demands that exceed their capabilities.
Specifically, the requirements in education and experience for each project complexity level are:
COMPLEXITY | EXPERIENCE | EDUCATION |

FAST TRACK | 100 hours of project participation | Project Management Fundamentals PMIT Basics PMIT Advanced |
LOW COMPLEXITY | 300 hours of project participation 5 Fast Track projects managed | Project Management Fundamentals PMIT Basics PMIT Advanced |
