Explores the factors, both historical and contemporary, that have influenced the socioeconomic and environmental characteristics of national and subnational regions, mainly in the developing world. Analyzes development problems and strategies from various theoretical perspectives and examines the impacts of policy and planning interventions on regional conditions.
