Leading and engaging learners in a synchronous learning environment using video conferencing software can be challenging, but it does not have to be if you are prepared. It is the aim of this resource to provide you with lesson planning resources devised for the online synchronous learning environment.
What is a Lesson Plan?
Lesson plans allow professors to align course learning objectives with their lesson objectives, organize and deliver course content, and plan and prepare learning activities and materials. It also outlines the type of informal or formal assessment methods professors will use in their classrooms.
What is a Live Session Lesson Plan?
Traditionally lesson plans are used to assist the instructor in reflecting and understanding the content for the specific lesson/s and how that specific content relates to the course and lesson objectives. While the Live Session Lesson Plan does this through the creation of the lesson plan, its main goal is to emphasizes the use of time and activities to help navigate the video conferencing tool (i.e., zoom google hangout etc.).
