Umesh and Shijun, I would like to acknowledge MEDC’s longstanding excellence in graduate education. MEDC students consistently excel in research and scholarship as indicated by their impactful peer-review publications. MEDC has the most students in the SOP who have submitted F31 applications and now are the first department in the SOP to have a student be awarded an F31 grant. MEDC students consistently take their comprehensive examinations in a timely fashion, which is important for their progression. Finally, your faculty are consistently the first to complete their graduate students’ annual reviews, which is of value for the students to receive this feedback in a timely fashion. In sum, the SOP recognizes that the excellence of MEDC’s graduate program concentrations results from the dedication, hard work, and conscientiousness of the faculty, as well as your leadership.
Thank you for all you do.
