Choosing a career

Choosing a career can feel overwhelming. By reflecting on your skills, interests and abilities, you can start figuring out the right one for you. If you’re unsure where to start, ask yourself the following questions:

  • What do I like to do? What drives me? What would I do if I could do anything?
  • What am I good at? What do people compliment me on?
  • What type of work environment do I want? Am I okay sitting at a desk or do I need to move around throughout the day?
  • What are my values? Is saving the world important, or am I motivated to make a lot of money?

To talk through these questions and get assistance with career exploration, make an appointment with your career advisor.
