The Center is a focal point for bioinformatics research and instruction at VCU. Faculty, staff, master’s and PhD students in the Center conduct nationally and internationally recognized research in bioinformatics, data science, and systems biology.

A critical component of our students success in Bioinformatics is their ability to successfully navigate through their degree programs and be aware of the multitude of opportunities for them at each stage.

Affiliate Faculty

In addition to our academic faculty assigned to the Center, our teaching and research missions are further supported by individuals whose primary appointment is in another unit or institution but allocate effort to the Center. The expertise and experience of these individuals enhances our core mission effectiveness.
