Unlike the community partner afterschool program, students do not need to be part of an existing community partner program to participate in our tennis development programs. There are three player pathways to choose from (Open, Development Clinics, and JTT) based upon the age and skill level of the player. Registration is accepted as space allows.

Designed for the new and beginner tennis player, this program will utilize the USTA’s Net Generation curriculum for the red and orange ball level. This program is for rising 2nd-5th graders that want to learn more about tennis through fun, game-based activities in a small group setting after school.
Dates: September 22 - November 17
Time: 5 to 6 p.m.
Cost: $80 for eight sessions

Designed for the intermediate to advanced tennis player that can serve, rally and score. This program utilizes the USTA’s Net Generation curriculum for orange and green ball level. This program is for rising 5th-8th graders that want to further develop their tennis skills and work towards match play or joining a team.
Dates: September 23 - November 18
Time: 5 to 6 p.m.
Cost: $90 for eight sessions

Designed for the intermediate 12U player that can serve, rally and score that is ready to put their practice into action. This program is designed for the 12U player and includes both a practice and match day each week. Practices include fitness/conditioning and tennis, with matches played against other teams on the weekends. *Players cannot turn 13 before December 31, 2020.*
Dates: September 17 – November 19
Practices: Thursdays, 5 – 6:30 p.m.
Matches: Sundays, TBD
Cost: $150 for ten sessions and 6-8 matches (USTA league fee not included)

Designed for rising 1st grade and older, these 60-minute, 1:1 lessons will provide high quality tennis instruction for any skill level. This offering is designed for the player that is looking to develop their technique and skills and is a great option when paired with the group lessons.

Scholarships
Scholarships are awarded on a first come, first serve basis and based upon financial need. If awarded, the enrollment cost is reduced by 50% for the program.

Weather Policy
Sessions are held rain or shine. Indoor tennis-related activities will be provided in case of inclement weather. Lobs & Lessons follows the Richmond Public School calendar for holidays and closings.
