Leonardo da Vinci was a painter, architect, inventor, and continual student. His passions and genius crossed so many disciplines that he earned the term “Renaissance man.” In the spirit of his example our center aims to impact communities through bold curiosity and intentional innovation.
The academic and experiential offerings of the VCU da Vinci Center for Innovation aim to create T-shaped individuals who are anchored in a discipline and have the capacity and openness to span across disciplines. As a result, students are better prepared to engage in our increasingly global world because they have developed the skills and tools necessary to engage in difficult dialog, to disagree, to reframe failure, and make change. The da Vinci Center is committed to increasing diversity and inclusivity in entrepreneurial and technical ecosystems; recognizing that our students represent the next generation of innovators and creators.
The da Vinci Center is a collaboration of VCU's School of Arts, Business and the Colleges of Engineering and Humanities and Sciences and VCU Health.
The VCU da Vinci Center for Innovation is a unique collegiate model that advances innovation and entrepreneurship through cross-disciplinary collaboration. We have programs at the graduate and undergraduate levels as well as offer Design Thinking training to all VCU students.
