Department: Division of Epidemiology
Danielle received her B.S. in Biological Sciences with a minor in Chemistry from Virginia Tech in 2015. She began her MPH in the fall of 2015 with many diverse interests in epidemiology, environmental health, cancer research, and pharmaceuticals to name a few. Since starting the program, she has had the opportunity to work as a research assistant in Behavioral Cancer Research under Dr. Resa Jones, intern with the Center on Society and Health at VCU, and work as a data analyst in the Division of Environmental Epidemiology at the Virginia Department of Health under the state public health toxicologist. Upon graduation, she hopes to pursue pharmacy school with an end result of a career in public health practice as a pharmacist. Her goal is to use her knowledge and experience to merge the fields of pharmacy and public health to improve collaboration and communication between pharmacy services and other public health practices by altering current pharmacy policy and promoting appropriate service utilization.
“VCU’s MPH program was an excellent choice for me because I had so many varied interests when starting the program. The program allowed me to gain experience in and learn about many different fields of public health, which fine-tuned my interests and aided me in future career choices.”
