Lacette Cross, known by many as Rev. L, lives in Richmond city. She blends her commitment to the church, academy, and community by showing up as a faith leader, activist, speaker, and facilitator. She has presented nationally on diverse topics, including racial equity, intersectionality, sexuality, spirituality, religion, gender, LGBTQ inclusion, justice, and leadership. Her wide breadth of experience includes being the co-founder of UGRC/Black Pride RVA, pastor of Restoration Fellowship RVA, and Founder/CEO of Will You Be Whole, which talks about sex and faith with Black women and LGBTQ folks. Lacette is a former fellow in the Community Trustbuilding Fellowship and RMHF’s Equity+Health Fellowship and has been recognized as a 2019 OUTStanding Virginian and a 2020 YWCA Outstanding Woman for Human Relations and Faith in Action. She has a Bachelor of Social Work from The Catholic University of America, a Master of Divinity from the School of Theology at Virginia Union University, a Master of Theology from Union Presbyterian, and an anticipated Doctor of Ministry (graduation May 2021) at Virginia Union University. Her doctoral project is titled "Making Room: Womanist Healing Space for Black Womxn’s Sexual Wholeness." Lacette is a womanist committed to holding space, doing justice, and building community. Her favorite color is purple, and she enjoys spending time with friends and reading good books.
