A Message from our Chair

The Department of Health Behavior and Policy is at the forefront of efforts to reduce national, regional and local health inequities. We aim to contribute to systemic changes that improve health care access and delivery for all individuals and populations, and it is my passion to advance high-priority research in disparities and minority health across the department’s programs.

Our dedicated faculty and students are leading the way in addressing, challenging and reconstructing the systems that have resulted in life-threatening health disparities for decades. As our efforts and impacts grow, we strive to foster more multidisciplinary research, develop lasting educational programs and continue to expand our research portfolio.

To perpetuate continued success, the department needs motivated, inquisitive and dedicated students to inspire and challenge us all to continue to strive for excellence. Collaboration is at the core of what we do, and we look forward to working and learning with you to promote health, improve health care delivery and reduce health inequities.
