Jared Johnson informs his advisees regarding their coursework and various social and educational opportunities at VCU. He coordinates the Berglund Seminar Series, Diverse Conversation Series, and other events relating to honors contracts, the capstone, and internship opportunities. He also helps students pursuing honors contracts, internships, and independent studies.
Prior to joining the Honors College, Jared worked as the advisor for the History Department at VCU. He also worked for several years at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville where he advised students for the College of Arts and Sciences.
Jared Johnson holds a M.A. degree in Anthropology from the University of Tennessee. He also has his B.A. degree at the University of Nebraska, Lincoln where he quadruple majored in History, Anthropology, Classical Languages, and Classics and Religious Studies. He is a very avid member of NACADA and has presented on topics relating to liberal arts education.
