About the position

Virginia Commonwealth University invites nominations, expressions of intent, and applications for an exceptional leader to serve as the director of financial aid and scholarships. The director of financial aid and scholarships reports to the associate vice president for student financial services and is an integral part of the Division of Strategic Enrollment Management and Student Success and a team which develops strategies to support student access and success and contributes to the achievement of VCU’s enrollment and retention goals.

VCU is seeking a collaborative leader with an understanding of the integral role of financial aid in supporting student enrollment, student success and student services, and an ability to adapt strategy as needed to achieve student and institutional enrollment goals.

The director is responsible for administration, planning, and leadership of a comprehensive financial aid program consisting of substantial resources annually in federal, state, and institutional funds. The Director leads an office of 26 full-time staff members and ensures full compliance with all federal and state regulations and reporting.
