Global Health (IPEC 528)

With a focus on clinical and research endeavors in Central and South American countries, this course will provide a foundation in interprofessional teamwork and international healthcare for health professions students. Themes of cultural competency, determinants of health, clinical skills, and ethical issues are interwoven throughout the course. This 1-credit course, which takes place on MCV Campus, is designed to prepare professional students in medicine, pharmacy, and physical therapy traveling to the Dominican Republic, Honduras, or Peru with the Humanitarian Outreach Medical Brigade Relief Effort (HOMBRE).
