Lavender Empowerment Summit

Friday, Sept. 28 – Sunday, Sept. 30, 2018

Lavender Empowerment Summit works to engages LGBTQIA+ students by encouraging their development as leaders. Lav Summit provides a safe space to share experiences and learn about issues within the LGBTQIA+ community and also addresses how to raise awareness about those issues to others. Lav Summit is FREE for current full-time VCU students and costs $200 for all non-VCU current univeristy students. Registration includes a t-shirt, a tote bag, a journal, transportation (VCU students only), lodging and meals!

Depart: Friday, Sept. 28 at 9 a.m. from the Floyd Avenue Circle at the University Student Commons

Return: Sunday, Sept. 30 at approximately 5 p.m. to the Floyd Avenue Circle at the University Student Commons

Location of Summit: Jamestown 4-H Educational Center, 3751 4-H Club Road, Williamsburg, VA 23185,


Registration Deadline: Monday, Sept. 17 (or when spots are full - first come, first served!)

The cost to attend Lavender Empowerment Summit is free for all current full-time VCU students. However, participants who register and do not attend ALL required Lavender Empowerment Summit sessions will be required to pay the expenses related to being a participant at Lavender Empowerment Summit totaling $200. This fee is not assessed until after the summit is completed and will be charged directly to your student account.

If there are circumstances that prohibit your attendance of Lavender Empowerment Summit, we ask for advance notification via the options provided within the emailed confirmation materials.
