TEACHING

My teaching experience includes undergraduate and graduate-level courses in the traditional, non-traditional, accelerated, distance, and online delivery methodology. My preparation and expertise are in curriculum and instruction, health policy, transcultural and holistic nursing. I have regularly led study abroad and service-learning courses for almost 20 years. I have served on graduate comprehensive exam/thesis and doctoral project committees.

RESEARCH

The focus of my most recent scholarly work has been related to transcultural nursing, global health policy, global nursing education partnership, and holistic nursing. I have been awarded $10 million in grants and sponsored projects related to nursing and health professions education. 

SERVICE

A former president of the Virginia Board of Nursing, Conroy has an extensive background of elected and appointed leadership roles at professional organizations at the local, state, and national levels. She has served as the president of the Texas Associated of Deans and Directors of Professional Nursing Programs, president of the Executive Committee of the Southern Regional Education Board (SREB) Council on Collegiate Education for Nursing, and as a member of the Doctoral Education Committee and a new dean mentor at the American Association of Colleges of Nursing. She currently serves as chair of the CGFNS International Professional Nurse Credentials and Standards Committee and serves on the International Commission on Healthcare Professions.
