The demand for the Commonwealth Management Institute has increased greatly. Due to the increased demand and wealth of qualified applicants, each part of the application is very important. Please read the important information below regarding the application process.
Participation in the Commonwealth Management Institute is a selection process conducted by a team of consultants at PMG. There are four different 5-day sessions per calendar year. The maximum number of participants is 36. In order to meet one of the goals of the program (increasing networking opportunities), PMG accepts no more than three participants from any one agency per session.

The application form includes open-ended questions. When the panel reviews the responses to the questions, members are reading to gain insight into the individual. We hope to learn at some level of detail about your leadership aspirations, reflection upon your current leadership practices, how CMI would be beneficial, and what you hope to contribute to the overall CMI experience.
Applications that are incomplete on the deadline will not be considered for participation.
A nomination letter signed by an agency head or cabinet secretary should be attached to your online application. Nomination letters for the CMI should be addressed to Dr. Jim Burke
