The garments, by graduating students Sidra Khawaja, Safa Al Hadithi, Dana Ahmed, and Ryan Basilio are currently on view in the windows at Msheireb Downtown Doha, near the intersection of Wadi Musheirib Street and Al Khail Street.
Our Fashion Design department teamed up with Doha Design District – managed by two VCUarts Qatar alumni Shaikha Al Sulaiti and Naila Al Thani – and Msheireb Downtown Doha, the world’s first sustainable downtown regeneration project, to celebrate the designs created by the Class of 2021 with the wider community.
In the true spirit of art and design collaboration, the Fashion Design students were supported in the visual presentation and branding of their windows by students from our Graphic Design department.
Special thanks to Fashion Design department professors Frederica Visani, Ali Kahn, and the Chair of Fashion Design department Christopher Fink for their support, and also to our Interior Design alumni Luma Mansi and Dana Abuhejleh who designed the sets and had them built.
The photographer is Baiba Jakubaite, and the garments are modeled by Olga Komarova and Abdalah Jhankeri.
