VCUQatar held its annual Awards Ceremony yesterday evening to celebrate the achievements and accomplishments of VCUQatar students. The ceremony is also an opportunity for VCUQatar donors to meet the recipients of their scholarships and a rewarding way to gear up for the final push to the academic year end.
VCUQatar students were honored for academic and personal excellence.
A gathering of students, staff, faculty, family members and friends congratulated recipients as they received their certificates and gifts.
"This year we have more scholarships than ever before as we are celebrating our ten year anniversary; our donors include Abdullah Abdulghani Brothers Company, Qatar National Bank, Exxon Mobile, The Arab Engineering Bureau and CICO. This year we are also acknowledging our alumna and their contribution to the design industry in Qatar over the last six years." said Valerie Jeremijenko Assistant Dean of Student Affairs.
VCUQatar alumna have made an impact on almost every area of design in the past few years: VCUQatar graduates have created the identity for the 2016 Olympic bid, as well as creating interior designs for hospitality, commercial and residential needs. Graduates also currently work with the Emiri Diwan, Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Agriculture, Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Qatar National Hotels, Qatar Tourism Authority, Al-Jazeera Kids Channel, The Qatar Museum Authority, Barwa and Qatari Diar to name a few.
