COVID-19

Masks are required for all facility users. Those failing to comply will be asked to leave the facility.

Masks are required at all indoor Recreational Sports facilities, including during exercise and using equipment. The only exception is while swimming in the pool or showering.

Visit the OneVCU website for further information and the latest university COVID-19 updates.

Sept 13: Due to ongoing issues with non-compliance of the mask policy, we are temporarily suspending basketball at all facilities. Currently, Intramural and Sport Club basketball activities will be allowed to continue. Thank you for your understanding as we prioritize the health and safety of our members.

Help Keep our Facilities Safe for All

All members, regardless of vaccination status, are required to wear masks at all times in RecWell facilities. The only exceptions are for those who are actively swimming or taking a shower. Those failing to comply will be asked to leave the facility.

Additionally, if you are unvaccinated, you are required to adhere to the following guidelines:

  • Respect space capacity restrictions and practice proper physical distancing (10 feet in fitness centers).

We strongly encourage all patrons to continue the following practices to minimize the spread of viral infections.

  • Disinfect equipment before and after use. Disinfectant spray and cleaning clothes are available in the fitness center. Wipes are also stationed around the facility.
  • Bring a water bottle and use the hands-free water filling stations.
  • Wash your hands frequently, minimize touching surfaces and use hand sanitizer.

Due to the nature of infectious diseases like COVID-19, no physical environment is free of the risk of transmission.  Our precautions are designed to mitigate, but cannot eliminate, this risk.
