Jessica Collins joined the Richard T. Robertson School of Media and Culture as an assistant professor in Fall 2018. She has more than 10 years experience as a strategic planner working with some of the biggest brands in the world: Walmart, Target, Johnson & Johnson, Colgate, Unilever, and Kellogg's.
A storyteller and visual thinker extraordinaire, Collins is a secret weapon when it comes to bringing research to life through immersion and ideation experiences. At ad agencies large and small, brand marketing consultancies and in classrooms shaping the next generation of marketers, Collins is always on a mission to find the land where what “is” meets her imagination of what “could be.” Having applied her expertise to some of the world’s largest CPG brands, she’s learned to look for the “special” in every situation, and translate that into a language we all understand.
Prior to joining the Robertson School full-time, Collins was a Senior Strategic Research Director and the Head of the Immersion & Ideation Department at Good Run Research & Recreation. She also developed the Strategic Planning Department at Free Agents Marketing and worked for four years at The Martin Agency in Richmond.
Collins previously taught Completeness and Judgment as an adjunct professor, currently teaches Completeness and Awareness and continues her professional work as a Strategic Planning Consultant.
