Brenda Brown is the Education and Office Administrator for the Patient Counseling Program. Mrs. Brown has a BA in Mass Communications and Public Relations with a minor in Business Administration. She provides administrative support to all aspects of the department including faculty support, admissions, student support services, and finances. She serves as the department’s point of contact for prospective students and staff.
In this role I hope to be the support and ally for others in ways I would want that support for myself. VCU staff manage key roles and are indispensable in their support of programs, constituents, direct reports and students. I support the space that the Staff Senate offers to recognize one another, collaborate and build relationships that encourage and strengthen us in our roles.
Mike Forder has spent the past eight years at VCU working on both campuses with the School of Pharmacy, Online@VCU, and currently with the College of Health Professions. He has held roles under both technology and academic affairs. In that time he has served on a number of university committees and task forces including the Technology Advisory Committee, Instructional Designers and Technologists group, and numerous RFP committees. Currently in the College of Health Professions he serves as the chair of the Online Education Committee and is involved with the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Learning and Events team and Diversity in Curriculum task force.
In my time at VCU, I've discovered how critical our staff is not only to the operation of the University, but to the pursuit of innovation and progress. I'm interested in serving on the Staff Senate to ensure that our community is provided equitable representation and a voice in decisions that guide VCU into the future.
